19 Days 18 Nights

  • Day 1: Morning tour start at Guwahati in Assam (NE India). Drive to Gelephu just over the Bhutan border.
  • Day 2: Gelephu area, then drive to Tingtibi area.
  • Days 3-5: Exploring the Tingtibi area.
  • Day 6: Drive to Trongsa and on to Jakar in Bumthang district.
  • Day 7: Cross the Thrumsing La and descend to Sengor.
  • Days 8-9: Upper Lingmethang Road. Overnights at Sengor.
  • Day 10: Descend to Yongkola on the Lower Lingmethang Road.
  • Days 11-12: Lower Lingmethang Road. Overnights at Yongkola.
  • Day 13: Lower Lingmethang Road, then recross the Thrumsing La to Jakar.
  • Day 14: Cross the Yutong La and Pele La en route to Gangtey Gompa in the Phobjika Valley.
  • Day 15: Phobjika Valley, then drive to Punakha.
  • Day 16: Mo Chu (or Tashitang) Valley. Overnight at Punakha.
  • Day 17: Cross the Dochu La on the way to Thimpu and then Paro.
  • Day 18: Exploring the Chele La. Overnight at Paro.
  • Day 19: Morning tour end at Paro airport.

The combination of the archaeology, the food and wine experiences, the swimming and the generally relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable tour. There was a high attention to detail. Our main tour guide was very enthusiastic and highly qualified. Excellent.
